Ramune ("Ra-moo-nay") is a popular type of Japanese soft drink in a
unique bottle with a unique flavor. It's been likened to lemonade, but I don't
taste the resemblance. It's sort of like ginger ale...but not. Sort of citrusy...then
again, not really. It's hard to describe, but it's also addictive. C'mon, if you've
had it, you know what I mean. ^^
Ramune bottles also have a marble trapped inside the neck that you release when
you open the bottle, a feat I have never been able to perform without the stuff
fizzing all over me. Is there some trick to it?
You can find ramune in the US at most Japanese/Asian grocery stores. It also comes
in hard-candy form (the ones I've tried have actually been fizzy, too).
what's a fanlisting?
A fanlisting is "a place for all fans of a particular show, movie, actor/actress,
singer, etc. to come together and build the biggest listing of people from all
around the world who are fans of that subject." ~from thefanlistings.org
what's with the site title?
While I was agonizing over the layout for this site (which turned out much simpler
than I'd planned it), I kept staring at the empty Ramune bottle on my desk, trying
to mentally extract inspiration from it. On the back it says, "For even more
delicious this drink chill before drinking." Not being one to resist a good
bit of Engrish, I named the
site accordingly.
